A Tasty and Healthy Dinner

Image result for rainbow healthy plateFirst let's start with what makes up a nutritious dinner.  Your dinner plate should be made up of mostly vegetables.  You should eat the rainbow.  Your plate should include green, orange, and red fruits and vegetables.  Broccoli, kale, sweet potatoes, and tomatoes are popular choices.  Opt for steaming and seasoning with lemon or a balsamic glaze rather than using sauces or gravy.  Your protein should be a lean protein such as chicken, turkey, eggs, beans, or pork.  Seafood is another healthy option.  A whole grain is also an important part to a nutritious dinner.  Wild rice, brown rice, and quinoa are healthy and quick options.

Try added some green vegetables such a spinach or asparagus.  For your  protein saute some boneless, skinless chicken breasts tenders to add to the mix.  Tuna steaks or tilapia loins are a lean, quick, and nutritious option.  These seafood selections require minimal cooking time and pair well with tomatoes (fresh or canned) while cooking for added flavor.  The more color you add, the healthier your meal will be.   The next time you want to fall back on fast food or takeout, try these quick, easy, and nutritious alternatives.
